Some Rally pictures:

Another Champion and…a Champion’s car !

French Rally Champion, winner of the Paris-Dakar, World Champion of Rally-Raids, Bruno Saby will be back in October “…with tremendous pleasure!” on the Moroccan pistes that he knows so well.
With Denis Giraudet in the co-driver’s bucket seat, Bruno will drive nothing less than …Jean Pierre Nicolas’s impressive 504 Peugeot V6 coupe!
“Jean Pierre would have loved to compete, but this year’s IRC program excluded the chance, so he spontaneously offered me his car.”
Bob Neyret who 1st spoke of the Rallye to the 2 champions is still taken aback, “The incredible combination just shows that passion lives on,…even in the shape of a rally car!”

The list grows longer – Ray Bellm enters the Rallye International du Maroc 2010 !

It would be extremely lengthy and time-consuming to go through Ray Bellm’s record on race circuits and rallies worldwide.
Just a few to mention are: 3 times victory in 24 hour Le Mans, 3 times world champion in Sportscar, world champion in GT and in BPR Global GT, etc.
According to Paul Eric Jarry, President of the Organising Committee of the Rallye International du Maroc « Ray is not there to make a half-hearted appearance! He is extremely competitive and looking at those who are still about to line up, it seems that we are promised some first class action ».

Ray will be at the wheel of a 1973 Porsche 911 RS 3.0 for the start of the race on 9th October 2010.

Michèle Mouton to participate in the Rallye International du Maroc 2010

Described in a well-known British car magazine as « the fastest woman in the world », Michèle has just confirmed her participation in the Rallye International du Maroc in October this year at the wheel of a Porsche 911 2.7 RS.
The only woman to have held concurrently so many rally world championship titles including a double victory in the famous US Pikes Peak event with the fastest time ever, Michèle says : « I have always dreamt about this mythical rally but never had the opportunity to participate at that period – it goes without saying that I did not hesitate about taking up this fantastic opportunity ».

Bob NEYRET announces his entry in the Rallye International du Maroc 2010 !

Winner in a Citroën DS in 1969 and 1970, he finished second twice, third once and fourth another time. This year will be his eighth Moroccan event.

Bob said to us: “ I never understood how this rally, the best in the world and, as you know, I competed in many of them…, could vanish completely. For me, there could be no question of not returning to the Moroccan pistes at the first occasion! Thank you very much for having made it possible.”

For the 2010 edition of the Rallye International du Maroc, Bob is currently preparing three rally DSs identical to the works cars. Two will be available for rent from the “Bob Neyret Team”, with complete servicing throughout the 2.800 kilometres of the Rallye.
(robert.neyret@numericable.fr).

«It is an ideal car for this event: thanks to its suspension the DS is very competitive even against more powerful ones and, what´s more, your back will praise your car every minute…!»

Breaking news from the route…!

BACK AGAIN AFTER 25 YEARS...

The “Rallye du Maroc” belongs to a handful of mythical rallies whose fame has persisted in world motorsport throughout the 20th century.
The wild beauty of the scenery alleviated the harshness of the long special stages.
Many of the greatest drivers who had picked up the challenge still nostalgically tell the tales of those days.

Surinder Thatthi is the infatigable Kenyan member of motorsport’s international authorities, promoter of the ever popular East African Safari Rally.

Paul Eric Jarry is a French businessman residing in Morocco and a confirmed rally driver in many lands.
The two have pooled their efforts and knowledge to revive the Rallye du Maroc in its original form.
